On Monday, the Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, gave approval for the creation of Leave and Training Reserve (LTR) posts in different teaching categories in government secondary schools under the School and Mass Education Department.
As per reports, 15 percent of the total cadre strength of 40,166 teachers will be allocated to address the need for substitute teachers when regular teachers are on leave, training, or on medical grounds. This will result in the creation of 6,025 new posts to tackle the shortage of teachers in government secondary schools, according to a press statement.
