Network Operations Team Lead Vacancy in an MNC, Chennai- Apply Now

 Network operations team leader role involves a mixture of implementation/installation and operational support for the network estate and Data Centres, working with multi-vendor technologies, including switches (IOS and NX-OS, Junos), routers (ASRs and ISRs), and firewalls (ASA-X, Juniper and Checkpoint UTM SPLAT).

This role requires on-call duty between 5 to 7 weeks a year, and shift work.

Global IT Operations offers support services for the core IT infrastructure, Data Centres, Networks and Compute by ensuring all three areas are aligned to provide a stable, resilient, scalable, repeatable, automated infrastructure where hosts its applications and services. 

This team provides connectivity to all our offices in the UK, US, India, Europe, and SA and also establishes and ensures secure communications with our 3rd party providers and clients.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Ability to manage a team of network engineer

• Ability to manage shifts

• People-issues solving skills

• Experience with Cisco Technologies (Routing, switching, VPN)

o Cisco Routers

o Cisco Firewall Security

o Cisco Switches

o Virtual Private Network (VPN) - site to site and remote-access VPN’s

• Good understanding of different WAN technologies – traditional MPLS-like and SD-WAN

• Experience with Juniper Technologies:

o Firewalls

o Routers

o Switches

• Candidate must demonstrate Infrastructure as code – Automation in the network stack

• Experience with load-balancing technologies:

o F5

o KEMP

• Experience with DNS platforms

• Can-do attitude and willingness to learn new technologies

 Skills, Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience skills and behaviours:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Network support

• working, demonstrated hands-on product and technology skills in several above-mentioned areas

• strong practical knowledge of Security platforms and technologies, and strong practical knowledge of troubleshooting Routing and Switching protocols BGP, EIGRP, OSPF and STP

• HSRP, TCP/IP, IPSEC protocols

• strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills

• strong written and verbal communication skills

Certifications

• CCNP certification

• ITIL v3 certified – Foundation or Advanced

• Graduate Degree B.Sc. or equivalent

• F5 Certified – nice to have
